MANILA, Philippines — The remains of an Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) colonel were found at his quarters in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City on Fridayx1 gaming, the AFP said on Sunday afternoon.
In a statement, AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla confirmed that “the body of Colonel Rolando C. Escalona Jr., Judge Advocate General’s Service, was found at his quarters … in the early hours of November 22.”
According to Padilla, the AFP is coordinating with the Philippine National Police and Scene of the Crime Operatives for the ongoing investigation “to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

No other details were provided as to how Escalona’s body was found.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Colonel Escalona during this difficult time. The AFP is committed to ensuring a complete and impartial investigation to shed light on this matter,” the AFP said.
